Climate |
| Pleasant climate.
No warm clothes required except on the High ranges during
the winter. Kerala has six major Seasons. They are: |
| Vasanthakaalam |
|
This commences with the new moon in the March and continues
until May. During this period it is hot with rain at intervals. |
| Greeshmakaalam |
| This
sets in with the new moon in May and continues to July.
The periodical rains are considered to be commencing with
this period and continue through out it. |
| Varshakaalam |
| This
begins with the new moon in July and continues to September.
The rains for this period being more moderate. |
| Sharathkaalam |
| This
commences with the closing of the previous season and
continues to November. The north-east monsoon is partially
felt. |
| Heamanthakaalam |
| This
succeeds and lasts till January. It is marked by strong
winds and heavy dews. |
| Shishirakaalam |
| The
last of the year commences as the other closes and continues
till March and is distinguished by its excessive heat. |
